By Air

The fastest way is to take Metro Line 14 and transfer to Line 3 at Beidajie Station, then get off at Dayanta Station. The metro fare is approximately 6 – 8 yuan.
By Train
For those arriving at Xi’an North Railway Station, taking the metro is highly recommended. You can take Metro Line 2 and transfer to Line 3 at Xiaozhai Station, then get off at Dayanta Station. The metro fare is around 4 – 6 yuan. If you come to Xi’an Railway Station, you can take Bus No. 5, 30, 41, etc. directly to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The bus fare is usually 1 – 2 yuan.

Xi’an has a temperate continental monsoon climate. The best time to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is from March to May and September to November. During these periods, the weather is mild, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. It is perfect for outdoor sightseeing. However, in summer (June to August), the temperature can be quite high, reaching up to 38°C, and it is often hot and dry. In winter (December to February), the temperature can drop below 0°C, and it may be cold and windy. Make sure to bring appropriate clothing according to the season.

The temple is a significant Buddhist temple with beautiful architecture and a solemn atmosphere. Admission to the temple is around 50 yuan. Finally, stroll around the surrounding commercial streets, where you can find various local snacks and handicrafts.
